Paradise Copies
About
As a little girl, founder Carol MacColl had always dreamed of running a copy shop. Well, not really. But as a local resident of Northampton, she did realize there was something missing from the area. With western Mass bursting with creative arts and small businesses at the heart of the local economy, it was clear there was the need for a convenient full-service copy center.
In 1989, Paradise Copies was started in the basement of a unique downtown Northampton building on a shoe-string budget and built on the notion of supporting local culture. The business quickly grew into one of the most preferred printers for the five college’s community, as well as a valuable local space for sharing ideas. With increased demand, Paradise Copies rapidly expanded printing capabilities and began employing several full-time graphic artists. And the culture of the business had truly started to mirror the local scene, combining a welcoming open space with fast and diverse printing solutions.
In 2008, Paradise Copies followed a strategic plan to purchase and renovate a larger building just a block away from the original shop. The result is a significantly expanded space with a much needed parking lot, and still within walking distance to town. Along with the move, the company now has the ability to offer everything the big boys do, including prepress, color, digital, large format, offset, finishing and fulfillment.
